Alison Shurville is an artist inspired by physical landscapes and a desire to encourage engagement and support of wild spaces.
Landscape has been the focus of her practice since completing her Fine Art Printmaking degree and training at the Royal Drawing School. She uses printmaking and drawing to evoke an emotional response to ephemeral environmental states. From the glaciers of Patagonia to the mountains in the UK her processes aim to record scale, mass, movement and senses through investigating nature.
She captures fleeting moments using drawing and photography as a catalyst for discovery and intuitive reaction. Returning to the studio she explores drawing, spit bite, aquatint, drypoint and monotype depending on what she sees fit.
She currently teaches Photography and Art part time at a Quaker School having completed a PGCE in 2012.
